Christmas 21  Newsletter

Welcome to the Christmas  2021 Newsletter.

I hope this update finds you well .  This is our end of year newsletter for 2021 and marks the end of  another   eventful 12 months.  We have welcomed John Booth back to work and with much sadness bid farewell to Eve O’Farrrell, our longest service team member.   In the newsletter you will find details of our Christmas opening hours and updates on the many developments at the practice that will make 2022 another busy year for the team. Despite everything going on around us, the clinical  continue to engage in education and training  to make sure that the care they provide for you is  in line with the most up to date thinking and is completed using the most modern techniques and materials.

The long planned  practice renovations are in full swing now and you can read more about our plans in the  newsletter. As a result we have some temporary reception and surgery arrangements that will change as our build progresses, but our team will guide you through this at you next visit.

We continue to battle with  covid restrictions which do understandably cause frustration for both the team and our patients on occasions. Although these precautions do throttle the rate at  which we can work and on some occasions leave us with no option but to reschedule appointments, please do not believe everything you read in the press.  We are still providing (as we have done for the last 15 months),   same day emergency care to our patients who need it. This does mean that important but non urgent treatment can be delayed a little more than we would wish, but our dentists continue to add days nd clinics to try and keep waiting times manageable.

While we hope that you don’t need us over Christmas,   should you have a dental issue that you think requires urgent attention please call direct on 0131 669 2114, if the practice is not open there will be information on the answering machine explaining how to contact the on call dental service.  Opening hours over Christmas and New Year are on the front page of the newsletter

I hope you enjoy the newsletter and reading about whats new and the adventures of your dental team. There have been some incredibly challenging days over the last 12  months as we have tried to stay open and ensure that the vast majority of our patients are seen in a timely manner. We should be getting used to all of the uncertainty by now, but every week does throw up new challenges and problems to be solved. I am immensely proud of the people I am fortunate enough to count as both colleagues and friends who meet the most uncertain work environment that I can remember in my practicing career,  with (almost) unfailingly good humour and dedication.

In the mean time please enjoy the Christmas Newsletter and we look forward to seeing you in the practice soon.
