Dentistry For You and Your Family

What do you want from us as a dental practice?  Our existing patients have told us that they are reassured by the thorough examinations  that our dentists complete and they they appreciate   the  time our team take to  explain any necessary care  to them. Although we use the latest technology getting to know you as a person is our greatest priority.  Good dental care is about long term care where we  get to understand your dental health  and how it is evolving over time. This is one of the reasons we recommend membership    of the practice as the best way to secure and maintain your oral health.

Or goal is to help you and your family  maintain your optimum level of dental health over many years. Our team combine modern techniques with traditional values of courtesy, respect and integrity. We hope that is why all 3 ( and sometimes 4 ) generations of so many local families choose Craigentinny to provide their dental care.

Childrens Dental Care

Family Dentistry Edinburgh

We believe that you are never too young (or too old) to benefit from excellent dental care. Our aim is to give your child a gentle introduction to dentistry and help them to develop good habits necessary to keep their teeth healthy for a lifetime. We hope that our child patients mature into adults who feel relaxed and confident at the dentist as a result of their time with us. We pro-actively care for our younger patients to achieve this.   Our flexible appointment times allow us to offer family appointments where everyone can have their examination together

Clinical Standards

Our commitment to ongoing training ensures your care will always be in line with best current practice. Drs Booth and Hendrie have both achieved Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners via a process of further examinations and study. We were among the first practices in Scotland to achieve membership of the BDA Good Practice Scheme which meant complying with  a raft of  standards set to ensure patients receive the highest levels of clinical care and service at all times. Our materials and techniques are chosen as best in class based on scientific evidence. This means we only introduce new services when we are satisfied that they will be long lasting, beneficial and safe for you, our patient.

Safety Standards

This is something not often discussed but is very important to us. Every item that we place in your mouth will be either disposable (thrown away after a single use) or will be autoclavable (sterilisable). We sterilise all of our non-disposable equipment after every patient, this is to protect you. The practice owns 3 autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners and washer disinfectors  to carry out this task. The staff in the surgery all wear gloves masks and eye protection to protect you, as well as them. This necessarily increases the cost to the care we provide as we adhere strictly to best practice, however this is not an area where we will ever compromise.
