Our 18-Zero Campaign
is a challenge that we have set for our patients, ourselves and the
local community. The aim is to help all of our child patients reach the age of 18 with
no decay, fillings or missing teeth. For any children who may
already have experienced decay the goal is to help you prevent any
new decay and further fillings or missing teeth. |

Traditionally,
Scotland has a poor dental health record. With your help we
hope to improve this record for our patients and people within the
North East of Edinburgh. Parents - we can help you to find out your
if child’s dental health may already be at risk. |
|
|
|
Starting in 2005 we
will be introducing a wide range of new resources to help parents
and children. These will be available to all of our patients in the
practice and then to subscribers of our e-newsletter. |

Our new examination
and diagnostic system is quite unlike a traditional “check up”,
to help you and your child control and stop tooth decay effectively. We have introduced a
new examination system that can visually demonstrate to
your child some of the causes of dental diseases in a way that they
can understand. There are several key steps that are necessary
to ensure your child's future dental health, you might be
surprised
by some of these. |

Parents- do you know
the most commonly made mistakes that can put your Childs dental health at
risk? Our care nurses, hygienists and dentists can
provide advice specifically tailored to your child's needs to make
sure you avoid the pitfalls.
Our guide to children's
dental health. 0-4 years is essential reading for any parent or
prospective parent of young children. Ask us for your copy at your
next visit or e-mail us and we will post one to you today. |
